• An instant attraction to romantic interest, usually occurring within the first few minutes of meeting.
• An immediate urge to rush into a relationship regardless of compatibility.
• Becoming "hooked on the look" of another, focusing on the person's physical characteristics while ignoring personality differences.
• Unrealistic fantasies about a relationship with a love interest, assigning "magical" qualities to an object of affection.
• The beginnings of obsessive, controlling behaviors begin to manifest.
• Unfounded thoughts of infidelity on the part of a partner and demanding accountability for normal daily activities.
• An overwhelming fear of abandonment, including baseless thoughts of a partner walking out on the relationship in favor of another person.
• The need to constantly be in contact with a love interest via phone, email or in person.
• Strong feelings of mistrust begin to emerge, causing depression, resentment and relational tension.
• The continuation and escalation of obsessive, controlling behaviors.
• The onset of "tunnel vision," meaning that the relationally dependent person cannot stop thinking about a love interest and required his or her constant attention.
• Neurotic, compulsive behaviors, including rapid telephone calls to love interest's place of residence or workplace.
• Unfounded accusations of "cheating" due to extreme anxiety.
• "Drive-bys" around a love interest's home or place of employment, with the goal of assuring that the person is at where "he or she is supposed to be."
• Physical or electronic monitoring activities, following a love interest's whereabouts throughout the course of a day to discover daily activities.
• Extreme control tactics, including questioning a love interest's commitment to the relationship (guilt trips) with the goal of manipulating a love interest into providing more attention.
• Overwhelming feelings of depression (feeling "empty" inside).
• A sudden loss of self-esteem, due to the collapse of the relationship.
• Extreme feelings of self-blame and at times, self-hatred.
• Anger, rage and a desire to seek revenge against a love interest for breaking off the relationship.
• Denial that the relationship has ended and attempting to "win a loved one back" by making promises to "change".
• The use of drugs, alcohol, food or sex to "medicate" the emotional pain.

she's a co-worker. she's married, i'm married. she doesn't have a child yet within 4 years of marriage, i have a 9month old daughter in 2 year marriage. i accompanied her home a couple of times. we talked about her husband how she ended up with him, we talked about how i wondered what it would be like if we're the ones together, she giggled on some of my jokes, she's blushing when i tried to tell her how i feel about her and pinched me and sometimes hit me on my shoulder. she smile a lot when i stare at her. i can't stop thinking about her...sometimes i can't even sleep. i usually tries to look for reasons to be with her. i always wants to see her and stare at her.i got jealous when someone from our clients or some co-workers tease her. we're friends but she made it clear to me that its all we ever could be. its just been going for a week but we've been co-workers for the past 2 and a half years. am i obsessed or not?

Wow this is scary bcuz I dated someone with all these symptoms and when I tried to end it he hired someone to kill me, I was shot 4x and luckily I'm not paralyzed just have a broken arm.. He told me if we ever broke up he rather be dead or in jail. I took everything he said And did lightly, he stalked me at my house n job. I wish I woulda been smarter I could of avoided a lot that went on. He also vandalized my car and family members cars as well. Ladies, don't take any words lightly learn from my experience, please. I want to help woman to be more careful so they won't go through what I went through. Not many people survive from 1 bullet. I consider myself lucky and hope I can make a difference in lives.

I have
*Attracted from when we first met
*Wanting to be with him 9 months after we met and were starting to be friends
*Thinking of him constantly
and
*Always wanting his attention.
I've known him for 4 years and we've been close friends since. I'm an outcast at school with Cerebral Palsy (it only affects me physically, I have to walk holding onto a walker and furniture at home.) and a low self-esteem. He's a really popular jock that a lot of girls like and he's always been kind to me. He's the only guy that is actually, and when I get bullied and tell him he gets irritated. He asks me who did it and I tell. After that it doesn't happen anymore, maybe he makes them stop? Idk, but anyway, I say I love him. In your opinion, do I love him or am I obsessed? There are many insane people in my family so I have to know if I'm one of them.
